Professional Design,Textile and Craft Experience (A Selection):

1970 - now: In 1970 I established a commercial design and silk-screen textile printing business in Toronto.

I maintain a Studio, Trees Textile Designers and Printers, where until 2001

I designed and produced a line of hand-printed fashion, which was sold throughout Canada and the United States. My hand printed fashion and interior fabrics have been represented at International and National Design exhibitions and Fashion Shows. I am currently pursuing my own art in printed and quilted textiles as well as teaching surface design.

1999 - now Printed, stencilled and airbrushed fabric for costumes for theatre, ballet, film and television including “The Lion King” (Musical: Toronto & Los Angeles), “West Side Story” (Ballet: Toronto), “Resident Evil” (Movie), “The Rockettes” (Radio City Music Hall, New York), See (tv series)

1980 - 1995 Served on Jury Panels for the Ontario Crafts Council

1979 - 1995 Served on Jury Panels for the Ontario Arts Council for “Design Grants”, “Crafts Grants” and “Artists in the Schools” Grants

1978 Was one of the Founders of Surfacing: Textile Dyers’ and Printers‘ Association,. Ontario, and was the Editor of the Surfacing Journal for four years.

Teaching Experience:

Throughout my career as a surface designer and textile printer, I have been teaching and lecturing about textile printing and textile arts at art colleges, and venues throughout North America. During the pandemic I changed into online teaching and lecturing, which has allowed me to work with guilds, conferences and students all over the world.
